ReStore Committee: Is responsible for planning and building the 6,000 square foot ReStore on Route 3 in Belfast. The committee makes recommendations to the board regarding all aspects of building and opening the ReStore.
Homeowner Selection Committee - Meets at the conclusion of open application season (usually January and February) to review applications; conducts home visits among finalists; participates in announcement celebration; attends groundbreaking ceremony for new home. This committee is led by a licensed lender and HFHWC provides detailed criteria for evaluating applications. Committee members must sign and adhere to confidentiality agreement.
Construction Committee - Meets on a monthly basis throughout the build season. Provides oversight, planning, and recommendations. We welcome those who can share insights in their areas of expertise regardless of whether or not they will be available to build on site.
Outreach and Education Committee - Assists with planning and delivery of community workshops designed to increase access to affordable housing for low income Waldo County residents.
Public Relations and Fundraising: Meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00pm. Plans and implements each of the four signature fundraisers each year: Cafe Italia in April; Lobster Gala in August; Wreaths for Homes Silent Auction in December; and a rotating fourth event. Committee offers suggestions for press releases and PR opportunities, and may participate on the grants team.
